Intermission (The silent Truth)

After being killed by a Phantom, Prisma suddenly finds himself drowning in a sea of memories. As he sank deeper and deeper, his head slowly started to hurt from all those memories he suddenly experienced. Where those his memories? As he sunk deeper and deeper, he slowly started to lose consciousness, fading beneath the waves. When he woke up once more, he found himself standing on water. He staggered back slightly, his head still hurting from all those memories. But he had finally remembered who he was. Before he could actually question where he was, a child suddenly appeared in front of him. She was around one head smaller than him, had white hair that went down to her shoulders, icy blue eyes and pale skin. Looking at her outfit, she was wearing a simple white blouse with a black bowtie that had a crystal the same colour as her eyes embedded into it. She also wore a long light grey circle skirt, a grey pantyhose and simple brown loafers. Before he could say anything, she took a look at him, started smiling and said: „Hey there uncle.” He didn’t say anything. He just took a few steps back, before saying: „You’re not Snowy.”. His tone was clear and final. „Who are you?” The girls smile shifted into a look of surprise, before she started to look impressed. „You realized it pretty fast. But I thought my appearance was flawless.” He looks at her again, eyes now filled with suppressed rage. „I won’t ask again. Who are you?” „She took a few steps back, not expecting him to react this way. „Woah, calm down. Yiu should know who I am. Or can an Emanator not even sense when his goddess is standing in front of him?” „Goddess?” The rage in his eyes was quickly replaced by surprise and a calculating glare. „If you’re really the goddess, then why take on her form? Why not show your true self?” „Because I don’t have enough domain in this world to use that much power. And because I wanted to show up in some familiar form, I chose this girl. You remember her, right?” Of course he remembered her. How could he ever forget, after he saw her bleeding out in the Snow, not being able to save her. „Don’t ever take this form again, ok?” His voice wasn’t commanding, but it had this sharp edge to it, that would have made anyone else shiver. Without saying another word, the goddess changed her form, slowly changing into a flying deep blue flame. „Is this better?” He didn’t bother to answer. He just gave her a quick nod. „Why even take her form. Couldn’t you have taken any other form?” „Hmm yeah, I could have. But I thought this might me the most appropriate, considering what I wanted to talk to you about.” He was surprised once more. What could she want to talk about regarding Snowy. „Go on. What did you need to talk about.” „Oh, I wanted to talk about your failed attempt at bringing her back and why it failed. Also, I must say, trying to use my power to bring back a soul from the dead. A pretty interesting move. But I must say it amused me, seeing you try so hard.” He remembered the attempt she was talking about. Back then he had tried getting the crystals to absorb power from the Sea of Quanta. They’d then channel their power into the main crystal to make an anchor point to find Snowy’s soul and to even reconstruct her body. But the attempt had failed and instead resulted in him losing his memories and ending up in some random world where he had met Kleckser and his other friends. And it seems like that his tower had also been teleported. Before he could think further, she continued to speak. „Now, what if I tell you that it failed because her soul is somewhere where you couldn’t reach it? And once you tried to breach that realm, someone retaliated.” He hadn’t looked at it that way so far. When his attempt started to fire back, he thought that it was because the Sea of Quanta was resisting his usage of its power. „Let’s say I believe you. Where the hell would her soul be where I couldn’t breach?” „Oh, it’s simple dear. Her soul is imprisoned in the Imaginary Realm.” The word hit him like a truck. The Imaginary Realm. The realm of the goddess of creation. The one connected to the tree. „W- Why would she be imprisoned in there? What would Imtre even get out of that?” „Oh dear, she hated that child from the moment she had stepped foot into the Elysian Realm. And over time that hatred only grew as her Emanator started to focus not only on his tasks, but also on his adopted daughter.” She was right. Over the time she had spent with them, Thorn had slowly started to shift his focus from just his work to also include Snowy. And over time less and less focus went towards his work. He still got it done, but he just didn’t care about it as much as before. „You’re telling me she imprisoned her, because it made Thorn live a normal life? A more fulfilling live.” The flame stayed quiet for a second before answering: „That’s exactly what I’m saying. So, if you actually want to get her back, you’ll need to breach the Imaginary Realm.” „But what’s in this for you. I don’t understand why you’d give me all this information. What do you want in return?” The silence after that question stretched a little too long for his liking. „Oh, seems like my dear Emanator found the catch. You’re right, I want something from you. I want those worlds the people you call friends once lived in. I want you to let them die, causing those worlds to slowly corrupt.” There it was. The price she wanted him to pay. But it was too high. He couldn’t just let his friends die. Even if that would help bring Snowy back, what would she think of him, if she ever found out what the cost was. „I- You want me to abandon my friends? To let them die in cold blood? What kind of exchange is that?” As he finished his questions, the flame started to laugh. „Oh dear, I’m the goddess Sequa, ruler of the Sea of Quanta. The literal force of Destruction. Did you think you’d actually get a good deal from this, without me taking my cut? Oh, come on, you’re smarter than this, little detective. I’m giving you a good deal here. Just take it. Or are these friends of yours really worth that much? Would you rather leave this place with your memories sealed once more?” The silence after she finished, stretched for what felt like an eternity. Finally, Prisma spoke up again. „They are worth a lot more than you think. But you win. I’ll take your offer. But only under one condition. You leave me alone until all this is done. No randomly showing up to check on the situation, got it?” „Hehehe, of course dear. You have my word.” Now, I think it’s time for you to return to your friends again. Looking at them, it’s been around a week since you died.” Another realization hit him. „I’ve been dead an entire week?” He looked at her with a shocked expression. „Well, technically no. Something in that world revived you, so someone else jumped in to help you out…” Now he was just confused. „What are you talking about?” „Oh, you’ll see once you wake back up. But you already know them. Now, get back there. And don’t forget our deal dear.” With that, the scene in front of him slowly started to vanish. And while he left with more questions than he originally had, he also knew what he had to do. And he knew that he wouldn’t sacrifice his friends for it. He just needed to come up with a plan to get everything under his control…
