Intermission (The burning Web)

On the evening before the dinner, Prisma could be seen standing in front of the tree inside of his base. He was holding some weird staff in his hand, three moon crystals flying at its tip. Weirdly, the staff was broken in the middle, pieces just flying where solid stone should have been. You could also see a small hole next to the tree. “Huh, guess you absorbed most of the damage back then. I’ll need to somehow fix you once this is all over.” Without saying another word, he started to fill up the hole with dirt before brushing off his suit and staff. As he finished, his attention suddenly shifted towards the tree. “I know you’re listening. You’ve been listening from the very start, trying to see if I’m gonna be a problem, right?” But there was no answer. “Still not answering, huh? Look, I’ll make this pretty simple for you. You’ve ignored every time I tried to reach you just to answer a simple question. Now, this is your last chance to answer it. Who knows, depending on your answer, I might stop all this.” As he finished explaining his proposal to the unknown listener, the room filled with silence once again. Until out of nowhere, he could hear a distorted voice from the tree itself. “CONSEQUENCES!” The silence that fell after that felt different. Heavy. Until it was suddenly interrupted by Prisma starting to laugh quietly, before it developed into a maniacal laughter. “CONSEQUENCES? Consequences for what? For trying to live a normal life? For trying to protect someone close to us? For once in our life not only doing what you wanted us to do? HAHAHA” He was trying to compose himself but failed, anger slowly rising. “Oh, you can’t be real!” The silence between him and the invisible voice stretched once again, as he was waiting for another answer that never came. “Going back to staying silent? Hah, you’re unbelievable. But let me still tell you what’s gonna happen now. I’ll make sure to cut the strings of your puppet, before finally showing him the truth. Then I’ll slowly burn down every single lie you’ve ever strung in this giant web of lies until you’re reduced to nothing just to then finally kill you in cold blood like you deserve. By the end, everything will burn just like I should have burned down this tree you placed on top of her grave the moment it sprouted.” After finishing what he wanted to say, he slowly started to compose himself again, turning around and slowly walking away. “The trap has been set, the deal has been made, and the invitations have been sent. And you’ll have a front row seat to see everything burn…”
