Case 35 (Scattered Prayers)

As we were discussing our next moves at the campfire, Viola suddenly ran towards us nearly out of breath. Apparently, Freya had vanished, after fulfilling her mothers last wish to find some letters. As it had been some time since she left, Viola asked us to check up on her. She would have gone herself, but she had to protect the village in her sister’s absence. So, we went into the Blue Skies Dimension only to find a giant purple and black temple, filled with weird tree creatures. As we progressed, we also found multiple letters addressed to different people. One to Freya, one to the future Leader of the fairies, on to Viola and one to Felicity. Most letters were simple and didn’t have much information. But the ones concerning the future Leader and Viola had pretty interesting information. Viola’s letter told us, that her father was pretty close to her even if she didn’t know him and that he wasn’t the man he once used to be. But the interesting piece was the letter addressed to the new Leader. It talked about how there was never a Great Fairy Mother. Instead that was a lie fabricated by Aura to cover up the actual past. The fairies once belonged to a great Kingdom ruled by a Queen, always surrounded by her 3 mages. Aura and her husband were two of those mages. But as the Queen grew colder towards the people of her kingdom, Aura and the third mage initiated a revolution, while her Husband sided with the Queen. In the end they won, but both the Queen and the third mage lost their lives in the fight. And Aura’s husband had his wings cut off, before being banished. But soon after that fight, most fairies abandoned that kingdom as the earth slowly absorbed the ruins. Turns out the throne room we found in the eastern mines, once belonged to this kingdom. Now, after we reached the top, we had to fight a really strong tree, before finally saving Freya. She asked us if we could deliver the Letters to the respective people and so we did. But before we left the temple, we entered a room known as “The Vault”. There we found 3 magic Items. “Aura’s Blessing”, “Winters frozen Promise” and “Desmond’s sacrificial Life”. So, it turns out that the other two mages from back then were someone named Winter and Desmond. Combine that with the information of the previous books and we quickly came to the conclusion that Desmond was Aura’s husband. The letter we found behind her staff being addressed to her husband only strengthened the case. Now after getting Neric to not take Desmond’s staff with him, we went around and brought everyone their letters. For Desmond, we brought his to Silver, as while I know that he deserves death for what he has done, I also like to believe that everyone deserves to know the truth, as judging from the letter addressed to him, he also has no idea that Viola is his daughter. Honestly with all that information we got today, I’d love to look further into the past of the fairies, considering that they were probably one of the most prosperous kingdoms of this land’s past. But alas, I have more important matters to attend to for now, so maybe once my work is finished I’ll take a few days to look further into this. Afterall, I know someone who also lived back then…
