Case 7 (Memory of Creation)

One week passed as nothing happened. I finally decided that it was time to use the crystal. But before I would do that, I would get some opinions from Iatros as well as Chubs. I called both of them for a meeting and we met at Iatros place. We sat down in her pavilion to speak about the situation. I told them about the crystal and explained my memory situation in detail. I wanted them to help me get some more information to see if the crystal was safe to use. Chubs for the technical aspects of the crystal and Iatros to get a good opinion if the usage of the crystal could hurt the environment. They both followed me back to my base to have a good look at the crystal. To my surprise Chubs instantly understood that this crystal works like a computer saving work onto an external hard drive. In this case the human is the computer and the object you put your memories into is the hard drive. He really understands a lot more than I initially thought. I asked Iatros what effects this crystal could have on the environment, but she seemed to space out, like she was thinking about something really important to her. I wonder what she was thinking about. But in the end, she couldn’t really tell me if the crystal would have any effects on the environment. So, I started the crystal to get at least part of my memories back. The Memory of Creation. After using the device, it felt like I got memories back from thousands of years of experience. But most of them were missing quiet a few parts as well as critical information. After the storm of memories calmed down, I found myself in some kind of memory. I was talking to D. it was the moment I created the crystal. The disappointing thing is that I did not get to see what D looks like. But the conversation went as followed: Prisma: “Do you really have to be so negative about everything?” D: “I’m not always negative. Your just too positive for your own good. Have you thought what could happen to the three of us if you start this thing and it goes wrong?” Prisma: “Of course I thought about the dangers. But I’m not really worried as I did the math and the changes of something going wrong are close to zero. You can’t get anything better without practical tests.” D: “It should be zero before the practical tests start and you know that. But why do we need this weird crystal anyways? What is your plan?” Prisma: “The idea behind the crystal is simple. What do you think would happen if one of us lost their memories? Chaos would ensue without anything to stop it. That’s why I’m creating this, so we always have a backup of everyone’s memories.” D: “You do have a point. But do not test this thing until we all are back. Otherwise, you will just put us into more danger than necessary. I still want to see the death of Universe 839, so I will be going now.” Prisma: “Ok. But please don’t go overboard. You know what happened last time.” D: “That won’t happen again. See you later.” This is where the memory ended. After experiencing this memory, I found myself still standing next to the crystal. Iatros seemed a little worried about me, while Chubs seemed more interested in the experiment than my wellbeing. After explaining to them what I had just experienced, we decided to call it a day. I needed time to process all this new information. But we agreed that we would meet up again if anything new came to light.
