Case 6 (The Garden)
There was another shift in frequency today. After we went to the bonfire, we met
Chubstable. A human looking creature that has a cookie as a face. He said that he made the portal that brought him here. Now this is interesting. He is the first person that apparently made the portal. But he could be lying. But if his story is true then he could be helpful for my work. But the newcomer wasn’t the reason why we came to the bonfire. We wanted to get
Wanderer and
Iatros to help us with something. Mr. Lucky gave us the shard he found as well as some information about a blacksmith that could maybe help us understand more about this shard. We explained our reasons for meeting them and after some back and forth they joined us.
Chubstable also decided to join us to know more about this world. We went north and found the supposed blacksmith. His name is
Max. First, he was pretty aggressive, telling us that the shop is closed and that we should leave. But after stating that it was really important and showing him the shard his demeaner changed. He told us that these shards were connected to some kind of mystery, but he doesn’t know what kind of mystery that is. But he could still help us. He had gotten a special compass that would show us where the next shard would be. Every time it would find a new shard the compass would make a certain sound. But the compass was already showing us where the next shard was. We decided to leave our shard with
Max and to directly go searching for the next shard. We went into the forest and
Iatros was the first to find what we were looking for and stopped to take everything in. I asked her if she found something before looking at it myself. It was a beautiful garden, that seemed like it didn’t belong to this world. It seemed like it phased into this world the same way we do. That would explain why I felt more frequency changes than we found new people. In the middle stood a sign that told us to find the buttons hidden in the garden before we could go any further.
Chubstable,
Iatros and
Wanderer found the switches while I was wondering how strong the frequency change must have been to let something so big through a portal. After all buttons were pressed, we went down into the deeper parts of this garden. It looked like someone found a dungeon and just tried to make it look prettier by planting flowers. Anyways, we found two small challenges. The first one was a small jump and run to get a chest with a lever inside of it. But this lever was special. It was made of a material I had never seen before. The other challenge was a really small labyrinth that led to a big room with no bottom in sight and torches flying in mid-air.
Chubstable was the first to try walking on the air and it worked. There seemed to be an invisible path marked by the torches. The weird thing is that both
Kleckser and
Chubstable died but came back to life.
Kleckser fell into the Abyss and
Chubstable was thrown into the Abyss by
Wanderer. It seems that because this place is not part of this world death is also a concept that works differently that we are used to. But why did
Wanderer try to kill
Chubstable? I can’t remember the reason. After finding another lever we used both of them to open two iron doors blocking our path. We ended up in a new room with many Redstone lamps as well as levers.
Chubstable instantly started switching levers as he explained to the others that this must be some kind of puzzle. We soon got the right combination and the door unlocked. We arrived in a big room that seemed like an underground garden. In it’s middle stood a dragon called Silva. It had toxic green scales but seemed pretty small for a dragon. It immediately attacked and we had to kill it in order to survive. After it died the dragon dropped another one of those shards. We took it and went back to the entrance of the dungeon. But we realized that we couldn’t get back up there and were trapped inside of this dungeon. We thought that there was no way out when we suddenly heard an unknown voice talking to us. It offered to help us. After we agreed that we needed the help it apparently teleported one after another back to the bonfire. At least that what I think. I can’t really tell what happened as I fell into some kind of coma after we accepted it’s help. When I woke back up, we found ourselves back at the bonfire. After that we decided to call it a day and went back to our homes.
Who was this weird voice? And what does it want in return for helping us? I know enough about people to know that most of them won’t help you without expecting something in return. But I guess I’ll have to wait for that answer.
But not everything went without many problems this week.
Maxwell vanished. After he accepted to help me with the crystal he started building on his house. But when I wanted to check on him, everything was gone. His started house along with the library had vanished into thin air. What happened to him? I don’t really know, but it seems that I need to rework my plans.
