Case 5 (Riddles and Winter)

I tried to test my newest theory today. I think that you can predict if someone new is going to show up in this world. I theorize that every time someone gets transported into this world, the frequency that this world vibrates at changes for a small period, before the person arrives in this world. After their arrival it seems to go back to normal. As I slime, I’m a lot more sensitive to something like the frequency of the world, so I can easily tell if something changed. And so far, it seems that my theory is correct. After I felt like ice again, I knew something happened. So, I decided to take Kleckser with me to check out the bonfire. But I’ll probably keep this theory to myself until I can be perfectly sure that this is true. Well. We really found someone new at the bonfire. His name is Maxwell Winters, and he seems like a humble older gentleman. We also found a weird letter from someone called Mr. C. that invited us to some kind of treasure hunt. Also, Iatros joined us. I’m wondering if she can also feel when someone new arrives in this world. Maybe I’ll ask her someday. We decided to follow the map that was provided with the letter. In brought us to a beach where we found a buried chest. There was a note as well as a head inside of it. The note said the following: „Only the most dangerous people are ready to kill their nightmares. Many have failed at the attempt to fight a beast like this. This head is only worthy of whoever is ready to lose everything.”. The first person that sprung to my mind was Wanderer after reading that text. But he wasn’t there, so this thing couldn’t have been for him. After some thinking Kleckser decided to take the head and… nothing happened. Sometimes I really forget that Kleckser can be really dangerous. I always forget that because he’s such a good friend to me. We read the next clue and it said: „Once I was fully consumed by parts of my master. Now I remain as an empty purple shell. What am I?”. I remembered that Poisons tower was like a part of his body. At least that’s what he told me. And since he went missing about one week ago it seemed like a good guess to search next. On the way to his tower, we had two options. Either to use a boat to make our way across the ocean or to go over the mountains around the ocean. As Maxwell wasn’t the youngest anymore Kleckser decided to go with him via boat. As Iatros seemed a little scared by the water I decided to over the mountains with her. We all met at the tower and went inside, slowly checking each floor to see if we could find something of interest, but there was nothing. It’s creepy if you think about it. After Poison vanished everything in his house vanished as well. But somehow the tower remains. If it’s really made of parts of his body than you can think of this tower as Poisons corpse. I shouldn’t think too much about it. These thoughts give me the creeps. The chest was on the top floor. At had two notes as well as a brewing table lying inside. I took both notes and read them to all. The first one said: „This brewer can only be used by those who have looked death straight in the eye. Anybody else that tries to use it will forever be cursed by the forgotten spirits of the night.”. Iatros once told us that she was revived, so it was safe to assume that she died at least once. Maxwell was taken back by the statement that she was a dead child, and it took some time for him to accept that. After everything was sorted out, we looked at the next clue: „I sit in the middle of a broken dungeon. Luck was truly my worst enemy.”. It was speaking of the tower that Mr. Lucky blew up. To my surprise the lower part of the camp was still intact. It seems that Mr. Luckys attack only destroyed the tower and not the dungeon itself. In the middle of the room where we fought the warden, we found our next clue as well as a new item. It was a globe. The note told us: „The world is filled with lies. Only those with the patience to look through all of them can find the truth buried beneath them.”. As I am known as a detective it seemed like this item was meant for me. The last clue told us where to find the last item: „I’m full during the day and empty at night. In my middle stands a guardian shining with might. The last treasure can only be found by those who are clever enough to look beneath the surface.”. That sounded like it was describing a city. Maybe Starlight? We took the change as Rex was known as the guardian of Starlight. Iatros was the one that had the idea to look inside the well. She’s really clever for a child if you would ask me. And her idea was correct as we fount the last item. An eye. The note next to it told us: „Only those with open minds can hold the eye before you. Everyone else shall be cursed till end of time.”. Only Maxwell was left, so it was his item. It also made sense as he probably learned many things about the world with his age and probably looked at with it with an open mind because of the things that he learned during his lifetime. With this the treasure hunt ended. But who was this Mr. C. that started the hunt in the first place? Was he related to Mr. D.? Does he also belong to my past? I will have to start my investigation sooner than I thought. I also asked Maxwell and Iatros to help me with my crystal. Maybe they could help me understand it better before I would use it.
