Case 14 (Traces of ichor)
I went to
Snows house to confirm her death. But I wasn’t expecting what I found at the scene. Everything was on fire. And I really mean everything. Luckily this fire doesn’t seem to spread, so it should cause any problems to its surroundings. But this makes my job so much harder. But it seems that at least some of the clues didn’t get destroyed. Let’s start with the elephant in the room
The Altar:
This thing seems to be some kind of ritual/alter. Considering how much blood there is, it’s probably the place where
Snow was killed/sacrificed. There’s a big wooden structure in the middle of the blood circle. Its edges are adorned with red shining runes while there’s a cauldron filled with blood hanging in the middle. Considering the whole mess every trace of blood must have belonged to
Snow. And while there might be small traces of blood from the attacker, I don’t have the tools needed to confirm to who or what the blood belonged to.
The Path:
There’s a blood trail from the fire that directly goes to the altar. This blood also seems to belong to
Snow judging by the few tests I can actually do. Considering how the blood splatters at the beginning of the trails are much more distributed it seems that
Snow attacked, or at least tried to fight with the assailant. But judging by how it narrows
Snow lost the fight and got dragged towards the altar. From there the assailant probably used her as some kind of sacrifice.
The Circle:
Around the altar there’s a giant circle drawn with blood. This is probably some kind of sigil, but I can’t clearly understand it, as certain parts seem to be missing, while the random drops of blood adorning everything else don’t make it any easier. But judging by the state this thing is in, it was drawn pretty hastily. I definitely need to look at what exactly this sigils meaning is, if I can even find anything.
To finish this report, there’s two things that are bothering me. First of: If
Snow died here and all of this blood belong to her then where is the body? It makes no sense to have a crime scene without a body. Did the assailant maybe take the body with him? But why would he do that? But the second thing is what’s really bothering me. Why do I feel like I’ve seen this thing before?
